Reduced plastic use

One of the main goals of the Be Blue programme is the progressive elimination of single-use plastics. We recognise the negative impact of plastic on the environment and have taken specific measures to reduce its use at our hotel:

• Elimination of plastic straws: We've eliminated the use of plastic straws at all our properties.
• Reusable utensils: We use reusable glasses, plates, and cutlery at our hotels in Ibiza and Formentera.
• Elimination of single-use containers: We've replaced single-use sachets with more sustainable alternatives at all our buffets.
• Reduction of single-use toiletries: We're reducing the number of single-use toiletries in our rooms.
• Use of dispensers: We've introduced shower gel and shampoo dispensers to reduce the use of small plastic bottles.
• Compostable bin bags: We use compostable bin bags instead of traditional plastic ones.

Improved waste management

Efficient waste management is crucial to reducing our environmental footprint. At Insotel Fenicia Suites & Spa, we've introduced waste sorting points for guests and staff, making it easier to recycle and properly dispose of waste.

Optimised consumption of natural resources

The conservation of natural resources is another priority within the Be Blue programme. We've rolled out several measures to reduce energy and water consumption at our properties:

• Energy reduction: We apply techniques and technologies to reduce energy use and enhance the efficiency of our systems.
• Reduction of water consumption: We've rolled out strategies to reduce water use, including the use of water-saving devices and awareness-raising measures among guests and staff about the importance of this resource.

Participation and promotion of the Be Blue culture

Fostering a culture of sustainability is essential to the success of the Be Blue programme. We carry out several initiatives to this end:

• Training in environmental management: We provide training to our staff on the importance and best practices of environmental management.
• Beach clean-ups: We organise beach clean-ups, inviting families to take part and contribute to the conservation of our coasts.
• Communication of environmental values: We actively communicate our environmental values to our guests, encouraging them to take part in our initiatives.
• Donation to the Posidonia Project: We support this project for the conservation of Posidonia oceanica, a vital marine ecosystem in the Mediterranean.

Be Blue Think Social

The Be Blue programme also covers our social environment. We support various local NGOs through Be Blue Think Social, including Proyecto Juntos, an NGO that cares for hospitalised children, their families, and their environment. Our guests can also collaborate with this NGO through our website, contributing to important social causes.
